Custom software.
A useful next step.

Software and apps shaped around the problem you need to solve.

Fulcrum Labs LLC is a North Carolina software and hardware lab. We build custom software and apps, starting with the people, information, and decisions a tool needs to support. Bring an idea, a recurring task, or an existing workflow that needs a clearer way forward.

Shape the scope

What does the tool
need to make easier?

An app around a clear task

Define who will use it, what they need to do, and where the current experience breaks down. A focused first version gives the idea something concrete to test.

A workflow with less friction

Map the inputs, decisions, and outputs before choosing features. If an existing system is involved, its available interfaces and access requirements become part of the scope.

A prototype to learn from

Use a small working slice to explore uncertain requirements. Separate the parts that need testing from the features that can wait.

From problem to prototype

Define. Build. Refine.

  1. Define the problem

Describe the users, the current process, the information involved, and what a useful outcome would look like. Identify constraints such as devices, connectivity, privacy, and existing software.

  2. Agree on the first version

Choose the workflow and features to explore first. A written scope can capture the expected inputs and outputs, what is included, and what remains an open question.

  3. Test the working flow

Review the prototype against realistic tasks and edge cases. Use that feedback to decide what to refine and what needs more investigation before release.

Discuss scope, timing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support for your individual project.

A public research project

Explore LinePointer.

LinePointer is Fulcrum Labs’ experimental NFL prediction research project. Its company overview explains the public app, saved forecasts, methodology, and results record. Its public methodology explains the research limitations and how outcomes are counted.

Start a conversation

Bring the problem.
We can start there.

A useful first message covers who the tool is for, what happens today, what should improve, and any systems or deadlines that matter. You do not need a complete specification to start discussing the idea.
